City guide
Bucharest
Romania's capital, once called Little Paris for its interwar architecture and wide boulevards. Under Ceaușescu much of the centre was demolished to make way for the Palace of the Parliament; regarded as the heaviest building in the world, it tells the city's recent history on its own.
