City guide
Cordoba
In the 10th century, as the capital of the Umayyad state of al-Andalus, this was one of the most populous cities of its age. The clearest surviving trace is the Mezquita-Cathedral: a cathedral inserted centuries later into a mosque interior of red-and-white arches. Along with the Roman bridge and the Judería, the entire historic centre is UNESCO-listed.
